November 24, 2022: Warzone 2 Season One is well underway. Scroll down for all the latest intel on the current meta.

Warzone 2 is here! Some are already on the hunt for the Warzone 2 meta. Meta stands for the most effective tactics available meaning the strongest weapons in the arsenal often fall under this particular phrase.

With so many weapons to select, determining which becomes the meta is an extremely tricky task as players drop into Call of Duty's next battle royale for the first time. Thanks to the game sharing the same engine as Modern Warfare 2, there's a chance there's no difference in weapon performance when loading into Warzone 2.

Before we take a closer look at the Warzone 2 meta, check out our guides showcasing the best Warzone 2 guns likely featuring in the meta and intel on upcoming Warzone 2 double XP events.

What is the Warzone 2 meta?

As players continue to drop into Al Mazrah, these are the guns standing out from the rest of the arsenal thanks to their incredible damage in close-quarters, mid-range, and long-distance combat.

In addition to the best Warzone 2 AR, we also expect a variety of SMGs, shotguns, and sniper rifles to appear. As we head towards Season One Reloaded and a potential dose of weapon balancing, we'll update the list to reflect any major buffs and nerfs.

Best Warzone 2 meta loadout

The chances of a weapon from the Warzone 2 arsenal standing out from the crowd are high. Whether it's an AR or a more powerful LMG, players always manage to find one gun that's far superior to the others.

The Warzone 2 cycle is in its early stages and after some early testing, we've found a loadout that performs well in all kinds of scenarios.

The primary weapon of choice is the RPK LMG. Armed with incredible damage output and recoil that's easy to control, it's the perfect weapon to make an impact in mid-range combat. Here's the strongest attachment combination to equip:

  • Muzzle: Polarfire-S
  • Optic: SZ Vortex-90
  • Stock: FT Tac-Elite Stock
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Ammunition: 7.62 High Velocity

Warzone 2 meta perks

Alongside choosing a gun that's part of the Warzone 2 meta, selecting a combination of perks is just as important. Unlike the first iteration of Warzone, you're unable to choose your own perk combination. Instead, you need to use one of eight predetermined perk packages. This is the best to use:

  • Scavenger (Base)
  • Strong Arm (Base)
  • Focus (Bonus)
  • Ghost (Ultimate)

Although there's no protection from grenades, the combination of Focus and Ghost is hard to beat. The bonus perk gives you reduced flinch when aiming down sights while Ghost conceals your location from any enemy UAVs flying above.

Warzone 2 season 2 release date

Although Season One is in its early stages, players are already looking for intel on Warzone 2 Season Two. With the Season One Reloaded update going live in mid-December, we expect the second season to start in early 2023.
