A new Dreamhack Online Open Featuring Fortnite Tournament is on the way, allowing competitive Fortnite fans to test their mettle against other players. Running in early October 2021, information about the tournaments has begun being added to the DreamHack API.
October Dreamhack Online Open Featuring Fortnite Tournament Details
The Dreamhack Online Open Featuring Fortnite Tournament will run from October 7, 2021, until October 10, 2021. The tournament is open to Duo from NA East and Europe.
There will be open qualifiers to filter out 500 Duos from each Heat to the Semifinals. Similar to most Fortnite tournaments, Duos will be allowed to play up to 10 games in a 3-hour heat.
The Semifinals will whittle the number of Duos down to fifty that will play in the Grand Final, which is run the same as the Semifinals. There will be six consecutive games in the Grand Finals, with a new match starting every 35 minutes.
October Dreamhack Online Open Featuring Fortnite Tournament Scoring
Throughout the tournament Duos will earn points in various ways:
- Elimination During Qualifiers - 3 points
- Elimination During Semifinals - 4 points
- Elimination During Finals - 6 points
- 1st Place in Match - 55 points
- 2nd Place in Match - 49 points
- 3rd Place in Match - 46 points
Duos will earn a decreasing amount of points up until 25th place (2 points) in a match. If they come in any lower they will receive no points.
