LEGO Fortnite has received a major update that goes back to the franchise’s building roots with customizable cars in the appropriately named Mechanic Mayhem patch. As the post says, this is a “wheely” exciting update for fans of the game, so we don’t blame them if they start rushing to their game systems.

According to the official Fortnite website, Mechanical Mayhem will let players customize three different car builds: Speeder, Offroader, and Hauler. However, players will have to work a bit to get these vehicles, as they recipes that must be collected via the game’s crafting and mining mechanics.

Players who want to experiment a bit can still do that in LEGO Fortnite, as the update also adds Vehicle Parts in the game’s Toys section. Gamers will need specific toy parts to make these vehicles work, but once that’s done, they can customize these vehicles to their hearts’ content.

If making your own vehicles wasn’t enough to get you excited, the game also adds plenty of new LEGO outfits for players to use. These are always expected when the battle royale gets a major update, but they’re always nice to see.

LEGO Fortnite isn’t the only game to get a major update, as regular Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing have also gotten some upgrades. Fans can check out our full patch notes for these if they want to see all of the detailed changes in this major update.

Epic Games will continue to update this unique spin-off game for years to come, thanks to their deal with The LEGO Group. Whether it’s due to the franchise or the gameplay, LEGO Fortnite has been a huge success for both companies. At one point, this spin-off had more players than the base game, due to how new these mechanics felt.

LEGO Fortnite is available now as part of the base Fortnite game. Players can download the game on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
