Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 has launched and it's already getting the attention of fans everywhere, thanks to the addition of Korra from, well The Legend of Korra. Unless there’s something else coming, it seems that this is the long-rumored Avatar crossover, since Korra is the next Avatar after Aang.

The theme for Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 is mythical deities, so adding Korra to the mix is an interesting choice, to say the least. Granted, the Avatar is a mythical being, but the fact that Epic Games didn’t choose Aang is an interesting choice. Korra does have a good amount of fans though, so it’s not like this is a terrible idea.

Despite being the Avatar, Korra can only use her water-bending abilities in the game, which is a bit disappointing. Giving her access to each of the elements would probably break the game, but it would have been fun to see the devs work each element into her.

Since Korra is now a character in Fortnite, this also means that she can use various weapons and equipment in the game. That means anyone can start making “Korra has a gun” memes since those are always funny.

Korra will be unlockable later in the season, so fans will have to wait a bit before getting their hands on her. At the least, it looks like those Avatar rumours had some credence to them and we’re hoping Aang eventually gets added to the game.

Adding Korra to Fortnite is far from surprising these days, though the fact that it happened without any new Korra media is curious. While she is a part of the Avatar universe, current projects don’t star the character. She’s not going to appear in the recently renewed Netflix series or the upcoming animated film where Team Avatar reunites as adults.
