Fortnite's Install Size Just Dropped By Over 66% On PC


Fortnitemares is here, and that's not the only treat PC players can enjoy.

Somehow, Epic has made huge cuts to the game's file size so that it takes up much less space as of a new patch.

Fortnite's PC Install Size Shrinks By Over 66%

Patch 14.40 will weigh in at a chunky 27GB, but fans will see their install size drop from 99GB all the way down to 31.5GB.

The developer also notes that this should improve loading performance, and allow for future patches to be smaller in size.

Please note the patch size will be larger than normal on PC (approx. 27 GB). This is to make optimizations on PC resulting in a massively reduced Fortnite file size (over 60 GB smaller), smaller downloads for future patches, and improved loading performance.
