Fortnite Chapter 3: Story So Far

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 is on the horizon, and fans are eager to know how Epic will weave the narrative going forward into a whole new chapter. Fortnite Chapter 2 was immensely successful so far up to Season 8, fans got treated to a plethora of collaborations that brought popular culture skins in the game.

Fans can expect the pattern to repeat in the upcoming Fortnite Chapter 3. This brings players to wonder how Fortnite's original narrative would shape up heading into the future. Currently, the map is invaded by the Cubes, and the Cube Queen has arrived on the Island.

Her mission is to take control of the map, or destroy it - but there is a flipside. Doctor Slone is still present in the equation, and rumour has it that she will make a major comeback during the end-of-season live event. On the other hand, we have Agent Jonesy and the Foundation - two knights of the narrative ready to do anything to protect the Island.

Community experts informed that the infamous black hole event will return to the game before Fortnite Chapter 3 commences. It will usher in the new season and might feature some of the iconic characters from Fortnite's history. So if you want to understand the Fortnite storyline better, then we have you covered. Here's our comprehensive storyline guide for the narrative direction of Fortnite Chapter 3.

Fortnite Chapter 3: The Story So Far

To better understand the storyline, players need to imagine that Fortnite's island is at the heart of an immense universe. This omniverse has room for everyone: from Lebron James to Superman. These icons of popular culture survive inside Fortnite's simulation along with some of the famous characters like Midas, Jonesy, Peely, Jules, Brutus and the Foundation.
However, the island and the simulation is controlled by an organisation called the Imagined Order.

The omniverse concept was always prevalent in Fortnite; it is what brings characters from different fandoms inside the battle royale map. Over the past few seasons, the map has seen several strong characters in the game - who possess abilities to destroy the island itself. Midas, Doctor Slone, the Foundation and the Cube Queen fall under this category - they are the major players that will shape the narrative going into Fortnite Chapter 3.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4

In Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4, players got to enjoy the massive collaboration with Marvel that brought iconic superheroes like Iron Man, Wolverine, Thor, Storm, Groot to the map. This season also introduced Galactus, who vowed to devour the Fortnite map. The map had a hidden power centre called the Zero Point, which Galactus exposed early on during the end-of-season live event.

Fortunately, Iron Man figured out a way to win the Nexus War by rigging every battle bus from different universes of Fortnite's island with gamma bombs to defeat Galactus. While this defeated Galactus, it also opened doors to an unknown threat which the island wasn't ready for. The Zero Point remained exposed and it grew unstable over time.

The storyline in Season 5 revealed how Jonesy entered the island from outside the loop, which meant he could survive outside Fortnite's simulation. Jonesy was tasked with preventing anyone from escaping the loop. Agent Jonesy was originally a member of the Imagined Order, but he turned to save the island towards the end of the season.

In a desperate attempt to save the Fortnite island, Jonesy threw the dimension portal at Zero Point. This inevitably attracted the Foundation to arrive on the Island. The Seven, are a group of mysterious characters in the Fortnite omniverse who strive to abolish the Imagined Order. The leader of the Seven, the Foundation, made a pact with Agent Jonesy to protect Fortnite's reality.

Ultimately, the Foundation was stuck inside the Zero Point as he used all his strength to contain it. The Zero Point metamorphosed into the Spire at the start of Season 6, and this was the beginning of a primal ecosystem that took over Fortnite island.

The storyline progressed to Season 7, where the Imagined Order arrived on the island, along with Aliens. The alien-invasion themed season turned out to be a massive success as Doctor Slone took over the narrative. She ended up betraying the residents of the island(players) and this turned her into an antagonist. It will be exciting to see how the narrative changes with Season 8. On one hand, we had the cube, and on the other hand the Imagined Order.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8

Season 8 began with Doctor Slone betraying all the Fortnite players. This was followed by the destruction of the mothership, which spread several cubes all around the Fortnite map. After the Alien Mothership's destruction, the cubes started spreading corruption all across Fortnite Island. Dark Portals are now present on the map, and players will get to see these monster-filled Sideways.

Meanwhile, the storyline trailer ended with a major hint related to the Foundation's return in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8. He was last seen in the primal-themed season 6, and it will be interesting to see how that story develops.

This is where the narrative course of Fortnite Season 8 takes an enormous shift. Data miners, leakers and content creators are coming up with some interesting conjectures to define the cubed-themed storyline. While some of these speculations are fictitious, others appear to be deeply reliable.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 - Major Plot Theories, New Map, IO Destruction

Fortnite Chapter 3 is building up to be quite a surprise for fans. Most players are expecting to see a new map, but before that the old must yield its place. The Cube Queen will certainly destroy the Island. All the story-hints on her cosmetics seem to foreshadow the imminent destruction of Fortnite's Island.

The Zero Point will make its return along with the black hole, but fans might get to see another character reveal from the mysterious Seven. In Season 8, fans can enter the Zero Point vault. This is where players spotted a strange helmet - experts believe that this belongs to Singularity, who was referenced earlier by Donald Mustard.

The Singularity might be working for the Imagined Order, but this will be revealed in the end-season event. As for the Cube Queen, she is currently building a pyramid that will consume the entire island and turn it into a sideway. This will unleash the ghastly rock monsters on the island, and turn every living creature into a sideways zombie.

Experts suggest that the Seven were the first to take control and stabilise the Zero Point, Geno was part of the Seven, but he wanted to use it for more power. Inevitably he ended up creating the Imagined Order.

The sisters who Jones mentioned were also part of the Seven, and Geno was replaced by another member - perhaps Singularity. The Imagined Order somehow stole control of the Zero Point and used it to fulfil Geno's idea. They used the power to create the battle royale island as a test to see what it is capable of surviving inside the simulation. They started by using living test subjects from different realities, first humans in Chapter 1, then expanding onto other life forms. The series of events since then led to the creation of the current map.

War for the island is imminent at the end of Season 8, but it will be interesting to see how Epic shape the narrative of Fortnite Chapter 3. Will fans get to see iconic characters in the future, or will a whole new set of entities take control of the map, only time will tell!
