With MetaMask being the leading Ethereum-based crypto wallet and users wanting to access their funds on go, how do you add the MetaMask Chrome extension on mobile?

One of the key factors that fuel MetaMask's soaring popularity is its ease-of-use. MetaMask has amassed a loyal userbase of nearly 21 million wallets. These use the service to connect OpenSea to MetaMask, or to transfer from Coinbase to MetaMask, for example.

Let's take a look if users can add the MetaMask Chrome extension to their mobile devices.

How To Add MetaMask To Chrome Mobile

Unfortunately, you cannot add the MetaMask Chrome extension to your mobile device directly. Visiting the MetaMask website download section can prompt you to download the Chrome extension, but only for its desktop version.

This is not the fault of MetaMask, however. Across the board, Chrome extensions are only available on the desktop version of the browser, rather than the mobile version.

Similarly, users on iOS devices will have similar issues, alongside the problems in using the MetaMask Safari Extension.

However, this doesn't mean mobile users are completely shut out of MetaMask. Instead, they can download the MetaMask app from either the Google Play Store or App Store.

If, for some reason, you can't stand the idea of using MetaMask's app, you can still use it on a mobile browser, just not Chrome. Through the FireFox browser's Add-On section, you can add the MetaMask extension and use it through your phone.
