Since the launch of Warzone and the resounding success of the Iron Trials mode, demand for Raven Software to apply a ranked playlist into the battle royale. Those looking for a more competitive playing field often rely on jumping into Rebirth Reinforced rather than a fully-fledged playlist complete with separate skill divisions and ranks.
With Season 2 Reloaded underway, demand for a ranked playlist in Warzone remains high and with other battle royales using the feature, it's the next logical step for Warzone.
Thankfully, Raven Software has revealed ranked play for Warzone is in the works.
Warzone Ranked Play
Shortly after the Season 2 Reloaded update arrived, Raven Software creative lead Josh Bridge revealed that a competitive mode is in the works in an stream with Warzone content creator TeeP. "We just want to make sure we do it right," says Bridge. In addition, the creative lead said ranked play is "what we need" within the game.
There's a chance Raven Software could be testing features focused on competition with the arrival of the CDL Resurgence Rebirth Island mode later in Season 2. The mode gives players the opportunity to qualify for an event and compete for a share of $100K in prize money.
Warzone Ranked Play Release Date
Other than knowing Raven Software is working on a ranked playlist for Warzone, there's little information surrounding a potential release date. There's every chance one appear in the latter stages of the Vanguard cycle as a beta so players can test it before it fully launches in Warzone 2 expected to launch alongside Modern Warfare 2.
