How To Unlock The R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow FAST In Warzone And Cold War

The R1 Shadowhunter is now available in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone as part of the in-season content updates for Season 2.

This brand new Special weapon brings back the classic crossbow for another outing in Call of Duty, just before Season 2 Reloaded.

This version is very slick - it has excellent strafing abilities and clean hit-detection. But it does suffer from bullet drop severely, so you'll need to aim higher at distance and lead your shots slightly.

First teased in the build-up to the new season, Treyarch has finally released the crossbow in the latest update.

How To Unlock The R1 Shadowhunter

To unlock the R1 Shadowhunter, you will need to complete a specific challenge.

"Using a weapon with no attachments, get 3 One Shot, One Kill medals in 15 different matches".

This special weapon launches lethal bolt projectiles to silently eliminate enemies. The R1 Shadowhunter has excellent hip-fire accuracy with good handling. Bolts must be manually loaded.

This weapon was mistakenly released early last week, those who completed the challenge will reportedly have their progress reset to 14/15.

This weapon will also receive a Blueprint in the 'Archaic Range' bundle, which can be purchased from the store.

Purchasing this bundle will automatically unlock the weapon.

Unlock The R1 Shadowhunter In Cold War

To get this done fast, we recommend using the LW3-Tundra as its the most effective one-shot sniper in the game.

Be sure to drop into Nuketown 24/7 to speed up the length of games and ensure you have plenty of one-shot opportunities.

It's even easier if you drop into Hardcore mode as you're almost guaranteed to get a one-shot, one-kill if you hit someone.

Make sure you finish your matches even after you have got 3 one-shot kills, otherwise the challenge progression will not record and you'll have to do it again!

Unlock The R1 Shadowhunter Crossbow In Warzone

In Warzone, it's a tough ask because you need to hit them into a downed state.

I would recommend playing Plunder so you get the class you want and access to a sniper.

Rebirth Island Resurgence mode is also a good choice if you can find a sniper or get your loadout.

The AX-50 is probably your best hope to ensure one-shot kills.
