As always, the mid-season update was packed with content, including new Operators, game modes, and so much more. Season 6 of Black Ops Cold War has also seen the launch of all-new weapons into the ever-expanding arsenal, giving players even more choice when it comes to building the best loadout for multiplayer.

The C58 assault rifle was released with the start of Season 4 and while it may look unassuming, it packs a deadly punch with the right combination of attachments equipped. In this guide, find everything you need to know about the weapon and whether it will change the existing Cold War metagame.

C58 Assault Rifle Overview

Described as an assault rifle with "high damage at close range with a slower fire rate," the C58 performs well in close-quarters engagements despite a lack of mobility. The slow movement speed makes it tricky to duck and dive out of any sticky situations but thanks to a number of attachments within the Black Ops Cold War Gunsmith, it is easy to improve movement speed.

So, what are the best attachments to equip onto this underrated rifle?

This particular set of attachments improves nearly everything about the C58, bolstering performance at close range as well as mid to long-range engagements.

Featuring some attachments that may take a while to unlock, be sure to utilise double XP weekends and double weapon XP tokens to rank up the C58 as fast as possible.

Find yourself running out of ammo too often? Swap out the Jungle-Style Mag for the STANAG 60 RND Drum magazine to minimise the need to reload on a regular basis and to lay down an unrelenting wave of gunfire that is impossible to evade.

Secondary Weapon

Use the Gallo SA12 when up close and personal with the enemy in order to score multiple kills in quick succession.

If you're looking for a secondary that is capable of dealing with Spy Planes and Attack Helicopters, we recommend swapping the Gallo for a Cigma 2 launcher.

This combination of equipment is certainly the best to use when it comes to the fast pace of Black Ops Cold War multiplayer. The Semtex can be thrown quickly to deter any opponents from pushing your location while the Stun Grenade makes it very easy to halt an enemy in their tracks.

When it comes to objective modes, the Trophy is the best Field Upgrade to use by some margin. Having the ability to block incoming equipment can often be the difference between staying alive in the heat of battle or being eliminated from a perfectly cooked Frag Grenade.

Perks

• Perk 3: Ninja

Perk selection is often the key to success when it comes to building the best C58 loadout in multiplayer. Flak Jacket increases resistance to explosives while Scavenger enables you to resupply ammo from fallen opponents, ideal for when you're on a long killstreak. Ninja is the final Perk of choice. Thanks to the almost silent footsteps, it's very easy to get behind enemy lines to spring a surprise attack onto some unsuspecting opposition.

Wildcard

Tips For Using The C58 In Cold War

Thanks to the high damage output, the C58 can dominate in close-quarters combat despite the slow rate of fire. The slower rate of fire may seem like a hinderance but in long-distance duels, it makes the rifle incredibly easy to control, allowing for deadly accuracy to be maintained at all times.

If you like getting into the heat of the action, be sure to use the additional mobility to your advantage. By sliding around the corners before taking aim, it allows you to catch the target off-guard, making the gunfight that much easier.

For those that prefer to stay out of the action, we recommend sticking to just outside of the action zones in order to make an impact with the C58. Utilise the height advantage to pick off opposition that may not be focused on what's above them.
