How To Use Accent Walls
When you are in decorating mode (press down on your directional pad), press the + button until you're in the mode where you are viewing the walls directly.
When you're in this mode, make sure you're facing the wall that you want to be the accent wall. Open up your pockets or storage to view the wallpaper that you have and it seems that all wallpapers can be used for accent walls. Now, there are two ways that you can place your accent wall and this will be determined by where your wallpaper has been kept.
1. The Wallpaper Is in Your Pockets
If the wallpaper is in your pockets then simply open up your pockets and click on the wallpaper. All you will need to do is select the "set accent wall" option and it will automatically apply to the wall you are facing.
2. The Wallpaper Is in Storage
If the wallpaper is in storage then you need to press right on your directional pad to open up your storage. Head through the various items you have in there until you reach the wallpaper that you want to use. Hover over your chosen wallpaper and press X. This will instantly apply this wallpaper to the wall you're facing and that will become your accent wall.
How To Get Accent Walls
You will learn how to create accent walls when you're decorating the interior of the home for your third client in Happy Home Paradise. However, if you do not have the DLC then you can learn this ability through purchasing a Pro Decorating License. To get this, you need to head to the Nook Stop in Resident Services and purchase the license by redeeming your Nook Miles.
If you have the DLC then you will not need to buy the license.
What Are Accent Walls?
Accent walls are a decorative feature used in homes. They are, as the name describes, a wall in the home and they typically have a different pattern or decorative paint on them than the rest of that room. They're used to give a personal touch or a unique feeling to a room's decor. If a room has 4 walls and one of those walls is blue but the others are all beige, the blue wall is the accent wall as it's different.
