First and foremost, go and speak to Blathers in the museum. He will have a thought bubble hovering over his head and when you speak with him, he will exclaim that he was deeply lost in thought about how to attract new visitors to the island.

Following this, he will suggest opening a café and request that you go and find the coffee-aficionado Brewster. He advises that Brewster is a big fan of Gyroids so will likely be found out hunting for them. This is where you will then have to go meet Kapp'n and have him take you on an island tour.

Kapp'n will be located at the pier of your island, and in exchange for 1000 Nook Miles, he will take you to a random deserted island. When there, you'll find Brewster in his Gyroid scavenging gear and be able to speak to him about Blathers idea of opening a café in the museum. Sure enough, after a short amount of dialogue, Brewster advises that he'll be seeing you on your island soon.

After having found and convinced Brewster to come to your island, return home and speak with Blathers in the museum again. Blathers will be very excitable and advise that he must prepare the museum right away for Brewster's arrival and the opening of the café.

The following day, the museum will be closed for construction and unavailable for you to visit. However, the day after this (two days after finding Brewster), the museum will be reopened with the café located in the back left corner of the second floor. Isabelle will announce that the café is open during her daily announcements, and the Roost will be available for you to go and freely visit, 24 hours a day!

You can then go ahead and sit at the bar in front of Brewster in the Roost to have yourself a nice cup of coffee for 200 bells. If you're lucky, you might even catch Isabelle taking a hard-earned break in there from time to time.

You can also take the opportunity to commence in a special ceremony to celebrate the news by speaking with Tom Nook at the Resident Services building. This ceremony is the same as the ones you will have had when opening other buildings around your island. However, the Roost is a long-awaited addition to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, so we know that we'll definitely be celebrating!
