VALORANT Episode 3 Act 2: Fracture

"A top-secret experiment site split apart by a radianite-fueled disaster. Flip the script on attackers with aggressive defender positioning on a new dual-biome map." This was the first datamined description found in the game files after the 3.04 patch update.

Riot Games provided another description of the map in the press kit which describes the map design.

"Fracture is the seventh VALORANT map. In its simplest form, the map is marked by its H-shape layout with a visual split down the middle that reveals contrasting sides. Long ziplines also connect routes underneath. Like previous maps, keep an eye out for heavy tie-ins to VALORANT lore, including first-time interactive narrative objects."

The official description already mentions that the map will have long ziplines, a feature that players have only seen in Breeze, Icebox and Split. Similarly, it also highlighted that these zip lines will connect routes underneath.

Here are the key features for the Fracture Map in VALORANT:

  • H-shaped layout, Defender Spawn sits in the middle of the map
  • Ziplines run under the map to connect front and back
  • First map with interactive objects
  • First exposure to Mirror Earth Kingdom; map expands on the mirrorverse and both Kingdoms

Fracture will be the first map to feature interactive objects, and it will also be the first time players are exposed to Mirror Earth's Kingdom.

It will be interesting to see all the new interactive objects on this map. Most of them will reveal intricate details about the two parallel Earths in VALORANT.

Hopefully, fans will get to know more about the identical entities from Mirror Earth, and learn about their actual purpose with Radianite.

Mirror Earth Lore

As the first map with interactive objects, fans can expect several lore related details hidden in the map itself. The developers like to place clues in plain sight, and fans will have to discover them from themselves.

This map will represent a specific disaster in the VALORANT universe. At the moment, it is unclear whether this disaster led to the creation of this map.

Fans and players can expect to learn more about their favourite Agents from voice interactions on this new map.

A reactive radiante core with a dual-biome map sure seems like the perfect mixture for chaos. The map will expand on the Mirrorverse, which makes it more interesting.

That being said, the new map will arrive with the next Act update. Thus, the only question that remains now is, if Fraction comes, can Deadeye be far away?
