Super Smash Bros Ultimate will be the main title for EVO Japan 2020. This was announced at the Nintendo Live Super Smash Bros Ultimate Challenge Cup Grand Final as it's set to feature at the start of next year. EVO Japan 2020 has also confirmed that it will feature many other titles including BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, Samurai Shodown, Soulcalibur VI, and Tekken 7; with more to come. Street Fighter V is very popular in Japan, it is likely we will also see it feature (as it was included last year).

More DLC characters are on the way for Smash, with a potential fighters pass 2 in the works and the European Circuit starting later this month; it's a good time to be a Smash fan.

Genesis 7 vs EVO Japan

Genesis 7 takes place on the same weekend as EVO Japan 2020. Genesis 7 is the largest grass roots Super Smash Bros event of the year, taking place in California, USA; it dates back to 2009. It will be interesting to see which events players decide to participate in.
