Splitgate Developers Obtain $100m in Funding


Splitgate developers 1047 Games has revealed that they've just received $100m in funding. Having launched their competitive sci-fi first-person shooter into an open beta back in July, this cross between Portal and Halo's proven significantly popular, resulting in delays to full release as 1047 Games boost their servers.

Announcing that they've closed their third round of funding, 1047 Games secured $100m after being valued at $1.5 billion. That brings their investment total to $120m since Splitgate became popular.

Speaking about this further, 1047 Games' CEO Ian Proulx advised:

The funding enables 1047 Games to build out its complete vision for Splitgate as a top-tier, AAA competitive shooter and begin to implement the studio's larger vision for establishing itself as a leading creative force of distinct and inventive IP in the gaming space.

Elaborating further, 1047 Games confirmed their long-term vision is to "usher in an era of 'new' classic games", seeking to provide "transformative new takes in well-known, globally-recognised gaming genres." It's a bold statement and if you're interested in trying out Splitgate, that's available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
