As seen on the Steam Charts, Splitgate has 1000% growth on its players just on the month of July. From getting almost a thousand players on June, new players arrived en masse and reached up to 45,000 players in July. In the same month, 1047 Games released the official trailer of Splitgate.

As of August, the game's playerbase is steadily growing and has reached up to 65,000 players. The developers are still a small team of four people and is now working on expanding its servers. When logging into the game, Splitgate actually puts the players on queue before letting them in the game.

Gameplay

Splitgate features gunplay similar to the original Halo while incorporating movement similar to Valve's Portal game. Most of the guns in Splitgate are hitscan which makes shooting targets lenient but headshots still deal better damage.

Meanwhile, every player also has access to making two portals on specific walls which makes the game unique. The portal mechanic allows players to travel through the map faster and even make unique positions to shoot their enemies through. The game allows creative ways to shoot your enemies.

More Content To Come

1047 Games are also promising more content to go in the game as the months go on. As of now, cosmetics are now available on the game's online store. Meanwhile, free cosmetic giveaways are also available from the game's battle pass, lootboxes from leveling up, and achieving challenges.

For now, we'll have to wait on the developer's plans for Splitgate in the long run.
