Capcom announced the Resident Evil Infinite Darkness release date during April’s Resident Evil Showcase.

Resident Evil Infinite Darkness airs on Netflix July 2021.

Capcom made no mention of specific regions, so presumably this is a global rollout.

Resident Evil Infinite Darkness takes place between Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5.

It’s a split story following RE 4 protagonist Leon S. Kennedy and RE 2 heroine Claire Redfield as they investigate two separate occurrences that might be more connected than they’d like to think.

Capcom released a more detailed Resident Evil Infinite Darkness trailer alongside the release date, showing more of the show’s visual style and offering a short audio peak at its voice cast.

What is Resident Evil Infinite Darkness?

Resident Evil Infinite Darkness is a Netflix original series exploring what happens between RE4 and RE5.

So far, we know a zombie outbreak takes place at the U.S. White House while Leon is there.

Since it’s only two months after RE4, Ashley will likely play a significant role as well, though hopefully, Leon won’t have to hide her in a dumpster anymore.

While Leon is dealing with the White House, Claire heads up her own investigation.

While on relief work overseas, Claire comes across a child’s drawing of what resembles a zombie outbreak similar to what happens in Raccoon City during RE2.

Claire shows Leon the image, but leaves to find out more before the White House outbreak takes place.

That’s all we know for now.

Given the series’ extensive lore, though, there’s likely to be much more.
