Pokémon Unite Cramorant Build - Fly Fishing

Lv. 1: Whirlpool
Shell Bell
Lv.3: Feather Dance
Buddy Barrier
Lv. 4: Air Slash
Sp. Atk Specs
Lv. 6: Dive

Best for: Melee pressure

A popular Pokémon Unite Cramorant build right now revolves around Cramorant's melee-focused attacks like Dive and Air Slash to offer it plenty of opportunities to grab fish for its boosted Basic Attack, manoeuvre around opponents, and even heal. It's a high-damage build with plenty of survivability, but its melee focus means increasing the odds of getting dived by the entire team with one stun.

Of course, taking damage means dealing more with Cramorant's counter-attack passive. Careful management and proper risk assessment are key to Cramorant's survival and potentially team-shattering damage.

Picking up Whirlpool early on should give you plenty of opportunities to practice landing a circular attack on an opponent and weaving it into loading up and firing prey with your Basic Attack.

That's mostly what Cramorant boils down to as the match goes on: maximizing the number of mouth missiles you're able to fire out in a single battle by getting the timing of your fourth Basic Attack around each skill use and position.

Though Cramorant will be easy to shut down in the early game laning phase, careful kiting and perfect Air Cutter positioning will keep it dodging attacks and healing up as it drops low.

Although you can use Air Cutter to kite even faster, its rapid cooldown after hitting an opponent means it's best used as a damage-dealing attack that can keep Cramorant fighting another day. Paired with its high stats and numerous repositions from Dive, Cramorant can dance around opponents, dealing fast and heavy damage that's hard to avoid by constantly loading mouth missiles both from its attacks and the effects they leave behind.

Pokémon Unite Cramorant Build - Bird of Prey

Best Items
Best Moves
Battle: Eject Button
Lv. 1: Whirlpool
Held: Sp. Atk Glasses
Lv. 3: Feather Dance
Held: Shell Bell
Lv. 4: Hurricane
Held: Buddy Barrier
Lv. 6 Surf

Best for: Ranged pressure and area denial

This secondary Pokémon Unite Cramorant build swaps melee for ranged, giving the weird bird a means to stay at arm's length of its opponents.

Surf and Hurricane are great for pinning enemies and keeping melee brawlers away. They're also good at closing off pathways, which can help Defenders keep enemies from objectives while you use your stellar Basic Attacks to shoot them down.

Starting things off with Whirlpool gives you time to learn your opponent's movement patterns, increasing your odds of landing Hurricanes later in the match to get you out (or into) sticky situations. Once Surf unlocks, however, your main focus becomes using the skill to lock anyone and everyone into a perpetual state of stun.

As ever, it all revolves around the increased Basic Attack damage of Cramorant's Gulp Missile with every fourth attack or after each skill. Though Hurricane will only net you the one extra fish to slap your opponent's with, timing Surf with your fourth attack can get you four fish total: one before Surf, one after using it, another potentially during the stun duration, and a final one for staying in the wave as it returns.

If you manage to lock more than a single opponent in Surf or Hurricane before or after it, the boosted Basic Attacks alone could deal enough area damage to take them all down. To play more aggressively with your attacks, use Hurricane and Surf to deny the enemy's advances on key objectives. Sneak behind to pull them away from goals or buffs, and go in head first to pull soft ranged targets closer to your team.

Not having Air Cutter means Cramorant is inherently less likely to survive a head-on clash, but Shell Bell and plenty of ranged attacks should have it easily heal what little damage it does sustain. Buddy Barrier ensures teammates are able to pitch in to help when Cramorant's high (but single-target) Unite Move is used.

When Does Cramorant Evolve in Pokémon Unite?

Whether in the main games or Pokémon Unite, Cramorant is not known to evolve from or into any other Pokémon. It begins each match as a Cramorant and ends it at Cramorant. No amount of leveling up will change the look of the big blue bird.

What Is the Best Counter for Cramorant in Pokémon Unite?

Pokémon
Reason
Machamp
While not the best (it can take heavy damage closing in on Cramorant) Machamp can pin the bird with Submission long enough to burst it down with Close Combat. It can ignore the Pokémon's CC attempts easily as well.
Talonflame
Talonflame can avoid early damage by dunking on Cramorant from the heavens. It will struggle to set up its skills from that point on, buckling under the bird.
Absol
Absol's primary countering move can shut Cramorant down with a solid critical hit. By keeping tabs on the bird as Absol, you can basically remove it from the whole game.

Cramorant is a sustained DPS that deals more damage the more it's hit. For that, it's important to counter it with a Pokémon that can either stun it often or simply burst it down with as few attacks as possible. It relies on skill shots a lot as well, so any high-mobility Pokémon will prove difficult for it to hit.

What Is the Best Cramorant Pair in Pokémon Unite?

Pokémon
Reason
Snorlax
When playing at range, Snorlax can pin opponents and keep them away from Cramorant, increasing its safe time on the target. Block can even turn Cramorant into a machine gun in a bunker situation.
Alolan Ninetales
Alolan Ninetales and its many slows can help just about any character, and Cramorant is no different.
Machamp
Machamp can bait and shake off just about any crowd control effect out there. This allows it to easily peel targets away from Cramorant and launch them straight up, increasing the time Cramorant has to shoot it down.

Cramorant is a signature glass cannon for the most part. It deals massive damage but can't take much in return. Because of that, it pairs well with Pokémon that can easily displace and slow opponents that might try to overpower it.:

How Do I Unlock Cramorant in Pokémon Unite?

Sadly, Cramorant's power fetches a pretty penny. To unlock Cramorant in Pokémon Unite, you need to buy it for 8,000 Aeos Coins in the Unite Battle Committee. If you can't wait to gather up that many, you can unlock Cramorant for 460 Aeos Gems in the same place. It's a paid method, but it's much faster than farming the coins through regular play.

And if you're using this Pokémon Unite Cramorant build guide while the bewildered bird is on the free rotation, you might want to look at builds for a few other similar Pokémon. Cramorant is hard to use, but practicing with other ranged attackers by using our Venusaur build, Cinderace build, or Ninetales build might teach you the fundamentals you can then apply to master Cramorant's uniquely fast-paced toolkit.
