Honkai Star Rail Welt build (February 2024) - Best light cones, relics, and abilities

Welt in Honkai Star Rail.
February 2, 2024- We've updated our Welt build guide for Honkai Star Rail.

If you have unlocked him, you may be looking for a Honkai Star Rail Welt build. Welt is one of the best Imaginary damage characters in Honkai Star Rail, and is a great option to have if you are looking for a top-tier support unit. He is great at slowing down enemies and his portals mean you can close the gap quickly.

While his damage output is great, players should be looking to optimise his slow debuffs for on-field DPS units. Due to the extreme crowd control he offers, you should be able to sweep groups of enemies with ease.

The best Honkai Star Rail Welt build

The following build is for Welt. You can find more Honkai Star Rail builds on our dedicated hub page.

Best Light Cone for Welt

Like all other five-stars in Honkai Star Rail, Welt comes with a best-in-slot Light Cone that he can use to maximise his damage and utility. In The Name of the World is his signature Light Cone, and you should consider pulling for it if you plan on using Welt long-term. Among four-star options, Eyes of the Prey Void is also a great Light Cone to use on him.

In the Name of the World: Increases its wearer's Effect Hit Rate by 28%. If its wearer deals additional Damage, increases CRIT Rate by 8%, can stack up to three time(s).

Eyes of the Prey: Increases the Effect Hit Rate of the wearer when attacking by 20%, and increases DoT DMG by 24%.

If you do not have either of our recommended light cones, feel free to use any lower rarity option as long as it aligns with the path of Nihility.

Best relics for Welt

Unlike Light Cones, you do not have to give up your soul to the gacha gods for relics. These are farmable items that can greatly enhance the Imaginary damage Welt dishes out. There are no support relic sets available at the moment, and all available options either enhance his attack or his crit stats.

Wastelander of Banditry Desert

  • 2-Piece Bonus: Increases Imaginary DMG by 10%.
  • 4-Piece Bonus: When attacking debuffed enemies, the wearer's CRIT Rate increases by 10%. If the enemy is Imprisoned, then the wearer's CRIT DMG increases by 20%.

Space Sealing Station

  • 2-Piece Bonus: Increases the wearer's ATK by 12%. When the wearer's SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer's ATK increases by another 12%.

Musketeer of Wild Wheat

  • 2-Piece Bonus: ATK increases by 10%.
  • 4-Piece Bonus: The wearer's SPD increases by 6% and Basic ATK DMG increases by 10%.

When farming for substats and main stats, you want to get as much crit rate and crit damage as possible for your main stats. For substats, you can focus on Attack, Imaginary damage bonus and other offensive stats.

Unless you plan on using Welt long-term, it is not recommended to go for Eidolons in Honkai Star Rail, especially for free-to-play players. You should focus on obtaining more five-star units instead of investing solely in a couple of characters. That being said, Welt’s Eidolons are very powerful if you want to go for them.

Welt’s second Eidolon is a great stopping point, as it helps resolve his energy regeneration issues. You should be able to spam his Ultimate as soon as it is off cooldown and maintain better uptime on your debuffs.

How to get Welt in Honkai Star Rail

Being a five star rarity character with a focus on the imaginary element, he can be a bit hard to get. You need to roll the Character Event Warp, Departure Warp, or Stellar Warp to unlock him. Unfortunately, this may take you some time.
