Nintendo's just confirmed that Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will launch on Switch later this year. As part of their E3 presentation - one which included new reveals for Advance Wars, WarioWare and Metroid - Nintendo's lesser known survival horror series is making a comeback.
Marking Fatal Frame's most recent entry, Maiden of Black Water first launched in 2015 on Wii U, making it one of the few remaining 1st party Wii U games which (until now) hadn't been ported.
Separate from the Nintedo Direct, Koei Tecmo announced Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black water will release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
Set on the fictional Hikami Mountain, players control several different characters as you attempt to survive this supernatural mountain, encountering numerous hostile spirits within it. Each protagonists adds to the overall story of Ose Kurosawa, a mysterious shrine maiden chosen for a powerful and dark ritual.
Launching later this year, Nintendo didn't offer a specific release date for this one, but we'll keep you informed when that happens. With yet another Wii U game coming to Switch, that just leaves a select few like Star Fox Zero, Nintendoland and Xenoblade Chronicles X. We'll keep you updated with new info as it comes.
