Breakdown

  • Respawn Entertainment has a new job listing for a multiplayer shooter and fans think it might be Titanfall 3
  • Despite this, fans don't want to get their hopes up since the shooter has been teased numerous times
  • Apex Legends continues to be the main focus of Respawn, since it's their most successful game

A new Respawn Entertainment job listing has fans hoping that the company is working on Titanfall 3, but they don’t want to get their hopes up. Fans have wanted a new game in the series ever since they realized Titanfall 2 was great, but the lack of news has gotten to them.

Exputer reports that Respawn Entertainment has a new job listing for a Game Design Director who has “Significant professional experience designing Multiplayer FPS experiences.” This is for an unannounced project that appears to be a new multiplayer FPS and many fans are hoping it’s another Titanfall game.

Despite fans on the Gaming Leaks subreddit wanting this, they’re tired of having false hope for Titanfall 3, as previous signs of the game coming out have led to nothing. At most, fans have gotten new Titanfall 2 events, but it looks like we aren’t going to get a new entry anytime soon. Unless Respawn goes out and says we’re getting another installment in the franchise, fans don’t wanna get too excited.

For the most part, Respawn Entertainment has put most of their focus on Apex Legends, which is still the company’s biggest money maker. The multiplayer shooter still gets a ton of updates, with Season 21 only coming out recently and adding a new character. Ironically, Apex Legends is a spin-off from Titanfall and it’s arguably more popular than the acclaimed mech-based shooter.

Previous reports said that a possible Titanfall 3 was canceled, as EA shifted focus on other projects and shut down some projects as a result. Rumors claim that it would have been rebranded as an Apex Legends spin-off, which might be the best way to see this series come back. However, the need for a rebrand makes it easy to see why fans don’t want to have false hope for a new installment that might never come out.

We might never get Titanfall 3, but fans can at least purchase Titanfall 2 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and PC. Not only is the multiplayer fun, but that shooter also has an excellent single-player campaign.
