A Modern Warfare 3 movement exploit is transforming players into snakes sliding along the ground at breakneck speeds.

Thanks to several movement changes in Modern Warfare 3, fast-paced Call of Duty action is back in abundance with players looking to slide cancel, jump, duck, and dive their way around their favourite maps and game modes.

Players are always on the hunt for any slight advantage they can gain over their opposition and ahead of Season 1, a newly-discovered movement exploit could finally give mouse and keyboard players the upper hand over those who are using a controller during a match.

Uncovered by Call of Duty content creator Sage, the exploit allows players to hit the ground and continue sliding along the ground like a snake.

Aptly named Snaking 2.0, the exploit clearly gives mouse and keyboard players a huge advantage when navigating the map. Without the need to stand, it's very easy to move around relatively undetected.

According to other players, this isn't the first occasion Snaking 2.0 has appeared in the Call of Duty franchise. One fan reveals: "This was what it looked like in Black Ops 1." For controller players, snaking involves crouching up and down behind cover quickly to peek at an angle without the risk of an opponent shooting them. This exploit takes it to a whole new level.

As expected, there are plenty of frustrated Modern Warfare 3 players watching others slither around the battlefield. One fan says: "This is so pointless." Another adds: "And that's why I turned off crossplay."

The exact cause of Modern Warfare 3's latest movement exploit is unclear but considering how advantageous it could be, there's a strong chance Sledgehammer Games is already hard at work on a fix to stop the snakes from slithering their way around once and for all.

While we wait for a fix, keep an eye on the ground for any sneaky slithering snakes looking to spring a surprise attack.
