Ned Luke, the actor behind Michael De Santa in Grand Theft Auto V, was swatted by a viewer of his recent Thanksgiving livestream. The GTA V actor was harassed while streaming to fans during the American holiday.
Luke treated fans of a Thanksgiving livestream, continuing his recent series of GTA V videos to celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary. However, the stream was cut short after the actor heard police sirens outside his house.
During the stream, Ned Luke told fans he had to cancel the event due to a SWAT team appearance, a frequent occurrence for the actor-turned-streamer.
“Alright, I've gotta go now,” the actor told viewers. “These assholes have swatted my house."
After Luke turned off the stream to take care of the situation, fans took to Twitter, falsely stating the swatting attack happened due to Rockstar leaking the actor’s IP address. However, Luke quickly responded, claiming that “sick” hackers have been swatting him for years.
“Y’all jumping to some large ass conclusions. This had nothing to do with Rockstar,” the actor explained. “These assholes leaked my private info years ago and have been doing this shit since. Anyone’s info is available online if you are sick enuff to really wanna find it.”
Mostly known for his role as the voice and performance capture actor of Michael De Santa, Ned Luke has teased a potential return to the role in the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6. With GTA VI now officially announced by Rockstar, with a trailer scheduled for December, the game could see the return of multiple characters from GTA V.
Other Rockstar news has also been popping up of late. An ex-Rockstar developer revealed some key information on the cancellation of Agent, a James Bond-esque secret agent game that was revealed as a PlayStation 3 exclusive. Grand Theft Auto V is available now on PC, PS4, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Xbox 360 and PS3. The latter two versions are not kept up to date with new patches.
