Update: Rockstar Games has now officially revealed Grand Theft Auto VI. Revealed in a recent tweet, Rockstar Games explained that the game will be officially shown later this year.

“We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto,” Rockstar founder Sam Houser said. “We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.”

Rockstar is reportedly readying up to release the first trailer of its long in-development Grand Theft Auto VI. After major leaks of the open-world game, the first GTA VI trailer will release later this year ahead of a 2024 launch.

Reported by Bloomberg, a GTA VI announcement is reportedly happening later this week. After an announcement, the game will have its first trailer sometime in December, teasing a 2024 release date.

GTA VI’s trailer is reportedly scheduled to release on the 25th anniversary of developer Rockstar Games. As a celebration of two and a half decades of open world games, the trailer will kickstart the next generation of Rockstar.

GTA V, Rockstar’s still-popular open world game, was officially announced back in 2011. Released in 2013, a decade ago, Rockstar is still updated the game’s online mode and have ported the title to new platforms on three separate occasions.

Rockstar’s newest Grand Theft Auto game has been the target of major leaks. Last year, a huge Rockstar app saw the release of gameplay videos of unfinished portions of GTA VI open-world gameplay, showing the game’s two protagonists, new weapons, gameplay systems and more.

In a response from Rockstar Games, the developer said: “Our work on the next Grand Theft Auto game will continue as planned and we remain as committed as ever to delivering an experience to you, our players, that truly exceeds your expectations.”

Despite this, the release of unfinished gameplay saw many fans of the franchise misunderstand how early the development build is, criticising graphics and animations that were nowhere near finished. In response, multiple developers shared in-development footage of some of the best looking games ever to educate gamers.

Grand Theft Auto VI is reportedly scheduled to release sometime in 2024 across multiple platforms. The game is expected to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC port is expected to release sometime afterwards, just like prior Rockstar titles.
