Red Dead Redemption 2 modders have beaten Rockstar Games to the punch, creating a new ghoulish event for their open-world game. Calling it Undead Nightmare II, that follows on from RDR's original's Undead Nightmare expansion back in 2010.
Available on Nexus Mods, this mod brings a plague to New Austin, causing the dead to return from beyond the grave. Some have lost hope while others choose to fight, as this plague overtakes the whole country. Basically, it adds a "What If" scenario to Red Dead Redemption 2.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Modders Get Tired Of Waiting, Create Their Own Undead Nightmare
So, what does it do? Across the New Austin map, towns have been boarded up as citizens try to stave off the undead. Meanwhile, the Wilderness iis swarmed with undead as they scour for food.
Lastly, the moon glows blood red and the regular ambient music is now gone in favour of an eerier tune, matching the grim tone of the Undead Nightmare DLC. As for gameplay, players will fight hordes of the undead and unfriendly people trying to survive this plague.
Lastly, Dabzveps notes a few additional mods to improve the feel of Undead Nightmare II, which are:
- Undead John Marston from KriztianD3
- RDR2 Enhanced Edition from Bolmin70
- Dark Nights from Alsharad
- Disable Enemy Radar from alfabravozapa
- Red Dead Offline from LMS, Bolmin and Bob Ross
Currently, this is the closest players can get to a new Undead Nightmare before Rockstar Games releases their own DLC. We'll keep you updated as we learn more.
