The Chinese company keeps the development of updates for its titles a secret from the players, including Genshin Impact seasons and banner updates. Luckily for curious players, a few people are leaking various details about Hoyoverse. However, in recent times the company has begun to be very strict about all sorts of leaks and even sued several people.

Thus, we are unlikely to know about the development of Genshin Impact 2 until Hoyoverse wants to tell us news about it. So far, it haven't said anything about it. What's more, we have a few thoughts on why you shouldn't expect a sequel to this game.

At the time of this writing, Genshin Impact only has four available regions out of the seven announced. It tends to add one region every year. Therefore, after some simple maths, we can assume that Hoyoverse will remain working on Genshin Impact for at least the next three years. After that it could add previously unannounced areas and expansions, keeping Genshin Impact as an ongoing service game rather than working on a sequel.

What we'd love to see in Genshin Impact 2

Even though the release of the sequel looks like a distant dream, you can never say never when it comes to Genshin Impact 2. Moreover, it would be a great move to continue the franchise after the conclusion of the main plot of the original game. Below we have collected five things we would like to see in Genshin Impact 2.

Character customisation

There are many characters in Genshin Impact. Each has a unique design, so it makes sense why there is not a lot of customisation, except skins for characters.

However, we think it would be cool if we could change each character's outfit, or customise our own playable character with stat-altering equipment.

Revamped classes and weapons

Each character in Genshin Impact can only use one type of weapon according to their class. However, weapon differences are not that important, since Elemental Reactions play the main role. Therefore, in the sequel, we would like to see characters use different weapons, according to player choice.

Mount or transport

Traveling around Teyvat is very exciting, as you can find green plains, snow-capped mountains, islands with storms, deserts, and forests. It's a lot of fun to explore. However, when you want to get to the other side of the world, collecting resources along the way, your character constantly runs out of stamina. As a result, such a way takes a huge amount of time. So, in the sequel, we want to use a mount or some kind of transport to move around fast.

Improved crafting

Every Genshin Impact player will agree that they have too many weapons in their inventory. It would be great if, in Genshin Impact 2, it would be possible to utilise weapons to break down into resources and use them to create a greater variety of weapons via crafting.

Real multiplayer

In the original game, when playing with friends, we can only explore the world a little and fight in certain domains and bosses. However, both events and story quests are available only for in single player. Therefore, we hope that in the sequel, Hoyoverse will make normal multiplayer, so we can do all these fun activities with friends.
