Guilty Gear Strive, ArcSystemWorks' latest 2D fighting game, is off to a very positive start, shipping 500,000 units across all platforms.
That figure is up considerably from the 300,000 shipped on June 14, as reported by VGChartz. The game launched on June 11 on PS4, PS5 and PC via Steam.

The game appears to have been a critical success, too, with a Metacritic score of 87 for the PS5 version, 84 for the PS4 version, and 85 for the PC version.
As noted in the tweet above, ArcSystemWorks is planning to release a series of DLC in the coming months, with a sizeable roadmap planned for Season 1.
Our own review noted how welcoming the title is for newcomers, something which appears to have also been embraced throughout the fighting game community.
Here's what we said:
For new players of 1v1 fighting games, this is the one to pick. With a command input system that’s slightly easier to grasp than many of its contemporaries and a brilliant visual style, Guilty Gear Strive is a solid first foray into the genre.
