As you explore New York in Insomniac’s highly successful Spider-Man games, you’ll find easter eggs that hint at a larger Marvel universe already in play. Whether it’s swinging by Avengers Tower or finding clues that could lead up to a Daredevil team-up, it’s easy to tell that there are more heroes outside of Spider-Man’s friendly neighbourhood.

X-Men online release date
The Insomniac leaks didn’t provide us with an exact date on when X-Men online will see the light of day, they did reveal that multiple X-Men games are planned to come out between 2030 and 2033. That being said, it’s safe to assume that X-Men online will be one of those titles to launch within that period.
And though 2030 is still a considerable distance away, Insomniac has plenty of other Marvel titles including Venom and a solo Wolverine title to keep us busy until then.
X-Men online gameplay
We don’t have details on what X-Men online’s gameplay might look like, but we can make some assumptions based on other info from the Insomniac leaks. If you’ve seen the leaked gameplay footage for Marvel’s Wolverine, you’ll notice similarities with Insomniac’s Spider-Man games.
The Spider-Man series has found huge success since its debut and it does look like Insomniac is sticking with their tried and tested action game formula for future titles.
Is X-Men online a standalone game?
No, X-Men online will not be a standalone game. By taking a look at Insomniac’s plans with their other Marvel titles, we can safely assume that X-Men online will be a multiplayer mode for the planned Marvel’s X-Men game.
Just like the upcoming Spider-Man multiplayer mode and Wolverine online, X-Men online will be added to the base game sometime after launch.
