Spider-Man 2 - How to perform tricks

Performing tricks in Spider-Man 2 is super easy. Just like Miles Morales Spider-Man did, you won't have to purchase a special trick skill like in 2018's Marvel's Spider-Man. It seems Insomniac agreed that it was a bit of a pointless skill and should've been something that Spider-Man could do right from the get-go!

So, in order to do Spider-Man 2 tricks, simply press square while you're web-swinging with either Peter or Miles and move the right stick in different directions to perform all sorts of tricks.

The more tricks you pull off, and depending on how different they are, you'll get more and more XP bonuses. These are super small though, so don't look at performing tricks as a necessary thing to make the grind bearable, but rather as an extra incentive to try and look really cool while traversing Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Perhaps there will be a few opportunities to try out the game's Photo Mode so you can flex your acrobatics to the gaming community.

We won't spoil things for you, but in 2020's Miles Morales Spider-Man, Insomniac added a neat little reference to Into The Spider-Verse. So you might find a cool easter egg or two in the Spider-Man 2 tricks animations!
