Peter and Miles have certainly upped their game when it comes to moving across New York in a hurry, but it's just never enough for us gamers. We need MORE and we need it NOW. Thankfully, there's a very handy way to get to where you need to go in a heartbeat.
Spider-Man 2's fast travel system actually allows you to pop up anywhere on the game's map, provided you have fulfilled the requirements to do so. Fast travelling is as simple as positioning your indicator over the desired location and holding the Triangle button. In a jiffy, you're in a completely different part of New York.
How to unlock fast travel in Spider-Man 2
Fast travel will make your adventures as both Spideys incredibly efficient, and you'll find yourself less distracted by the great many crimes happening throughout the city. However, before you can warp from one corner to another, you'll need to unlock the feature in each of the city's regions.
On the map screen, you'll find a summary of each district, which shows your progress in clearing it of all threats. There is a bar at the top of this summary that shows you how much crime-fighting you've done, and which rewards you have unlocked for the area. This is indicated by the three symbols on the bar. The second of these is the fast travel function, meaning you will need to complete objectives and clear the area of some of its criminal activity before you can make use of the shortcut.
