How to get Charmander in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

As of right now, the process of adding Charmander to your Pokédex is a complicated one.

The Fire-type Pokémon doesn't naturally lurk in the Paldean wild. What you can do, though, before Pokemon Bank support is added, is breed a Charizard to get a Charmander egg.

Charizard was the first Black Crystal Tera raid opponent. Meaning, if you were able to beat the raid, either solo or with co-op partners, you'd get the chance to catch a Charizard as your reward.

With the Charizard in hand, you can use the new breeding mechanic to net yourself a fresh Charmander.

Because the Charizard raid battle was only available for a limited time, you can't get a Charmander this way right now. What you can do, though, is look for a player who did and get them to hatch you a Charmander. There's likely a lot on the GTS now.

What level does Charmander evolve in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Unless it's changed for some reason in the latest games, expect your Charmander to evolve into Charmeleon at level 16 and again into Charizard at level 36.
