The latest Pokémon games are adding quite a few new features, and the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet TM Machine is something players are already looking forward to testing. TMs were introduced in Generation 1 and have been present in all games since, with a growing catalogue of types and uses.

They are special items that can be used to give a move to a Pokémon, as long as it can learn it. There are some species that cannot learn TMs at all, but most can depending on the TM and Pokémon's types. The TMs appear in all shapes and sizes, and are usually single use. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet look set to totally shake things up!

Everyone is getting ready for the release of the Paldea region, and selecting which Scarlet and Violet starter they want in advance. Check out all the Pokémon we know that are in Generation 9, and the new Titan Pokémon. We've got pre-orders right here for anyone eager to get the game.

What is the Pokémon TM Machine in Scarlet and Violet?

Not only do we have TMs again, but we now have a TM Machine. The Technical Machine Machine (yes, really) is a new addition to Scarlet and Violet that lets trainers make their own TMs for use on their team. It appears that this generation's TMs have returned to single-use, but being able to easily craft more makes this less of an issue.

In Paldea, each Pokémon Center is confirmed to have a TM Machine, where trainers can spend League Points and some materials to create the TMs of their choice. To get League Points (LP), you can trade in Pokémon materials, or just progress through the story and earn some naturally.

How do I make TMs in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Making all these Technical Machine items is as simple as interacting with the TM Machine at the Pokémon Center, booting it up, and choosing which TM you'd like to make. As long as you have the points and materials, you'll be able to make plenty.

These new-fangled TM Machines not only require the aforementioned League Points, but Pokémon materials, too. This is a new collectible system that allows players to grab extra items after a battle with a wild Pokémon.

What materials do I need to make TMs?

It seems that there is a wide variety of these items, such as Snom Thread, Snover Berries, Shinx Fangs, and feathers from flying types. The TM recipes we saw in the trailer require three of each material and require two different items per recipe.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet come out in November, and we've got guides to check out before then. Read up on the new Terastal phenomenon, and what we know about clothing and customisation in Gen 9.
