With the campaign early access period for Modern Warfare 3 in full swing, players are already working their way through the mission list and all of the trophies and achievements Sledgehammer Games' latest release has to offer. As with all campaign missions, completing Payload on Veteran can prove tricky.

Modern Warfare 3 Payload walkthrough
Payload is the fourth mission of the Modern Warfare 3 campaign and continues from the discoveries made in Reactor. The action begins with a fully recovered Price scanning a missile base.
Sneak through the fields
After scanning the base, it's important to remember that the soldier carrying the keycard that opens the main entrance is carrying a red beret. After Price comes off the radio to Farah, make your way towards the ruins featuring a flag on the wall.
Two soldiers are waiting around. Pick them off using the suppressed EBR-14 and make your way forward without alerting anyone else to your location. If you see a yellow dot on the compass at the top of the screen, either crouch or go prone to avoid detection. Hiding in any of the tall grass also helps.
Next, head past the ruins towards more remains of a building that are much closer to the base. Eliminate the nearby soldiers then focus on the pair of Konni Group soldiers directly north.
Once inside the base, choose to remain stealthy or go loud to deal with a huge number of opposition attempting to protect everything within the small hangars. After exploring each of them, eliminate the soldier wearing the red beret and pick up the keycard.
Make your way inside the silo and through the corridor. As soon as you descend the zipline, a few more enemies await your arrival so be prepared for a firefight. Next, keep moving towards the control room where a Konni Group representative instructs you to drop your weapon. Shortly after, Farah appears from a vent and dispatches them with ease.
Enter the missile room
The next stage of the mission requires you to reach the missile room. Open the double doors to the right of the room and clear out the server room. On Veteran, ducking and diving in and out of cover was hugely effective.
After working your way through a few more rooms, you reach the main control room packed full of resistance. Tackle the enemies with the high ground before turning your attention to those on ground level. Don't forget to use any grenades for maximum impact.
Once the room is empty, head up the stairs and into a smaller room in a bid to disarm the missile before it takes to the skies. Despite a slight delay involving a locked door, you eventually make it into the missile room which contains a primed chemical warhead.
In classic Call of Duty fashion, there is a way to stop it from causing widespread destruction.
Close the silo
Work your way out of the missile room as fast as possible. You'll encounter a juggernaut so aim for the head if you're looking to eliminate it quickly. Next, clear the surface of the latest wave of Konni Group soldiers looking to execute the missile launch.
Another juggernaut is guarding the stairs to the tower. Break through its armour and head upstairs. Interact with the handle to secure the missile.
Although one missile is secure, Makarov and Konni Group used it as a distraction to launch another two missiles on the location of Laswell, much to the concern of Price.
