Utilising our Modern Warfare 3 Reactor mission walkthrough can prove useful if you're looking to complete the level on Veteran difficulty.

Campaign early access for Modern Warfare 3 is now live and with players working through the mission list, finding some handy tips and tricks may allow you to earn one of several trophies and achievements that are up for grabs. This particular level is an Open Combat Mission, meaning there are numerous ways to complete the level depending on your style of play.

Modern Warfare 3 Reactor mission walkthrough

Reactor is the third mission in the Modern Warfare 3 campaign and follows on from the events of Operation 627 and Precious Cargo. The mission kicks off with Soap, Gaz, Ghost, and Captain Price preparing to parachute after dropping a package off the back of a plane.

Destroy the helicopters

After dropping into the area, you're tasked with destroying three helicopters that are operated by Makarov's Konni Group. If you've landed as early as possible, the first chopper isn't far away. Head towards the nearest question mark on the minimap and choose how you want to destroy it.

Next, head to the second helicopter and use whichever utility you have in your arsenal to destroy it. As we were unable to find an RPG, we grabbed some C4 after clearing the area of any hostiles for a simple explosion.

The third and final helicopter requires a little more patience. Patrolling the skies is another helicopter. You can choose to outrun it by ducking and diving in and out of the buildings, but with some of the doors locked, it's much easier unleashing a barrage of bullets into the airborne helicopter allowing you to navigate the area with ease.

Once you've taken care of the airborne chopper and the masses of Konni Group surrounding the grounded helicopter, destroy it by any means. Next to the third helicopter is a supply box containing an STB 556 equipped with a grenade launcher. We equipped it and dispatched of the vehicle with a few shots.

With no more helicopters remaining, Laswell will instruct all members of Task Force 141 to make their way to the reactor. Make your way there and enter through a nearby airlock.

Upon entering, you lose signal with Laswell before Gaz alerts the team to another helicopter containing soldiers lowering ropes onto the reactor's roof. A platform containing enemies and chemical weapons will drop down. Shoot the targets to stop the package from floating away.

Despite your best efforts, the cache of chemical weapons causes the reactor to fill with toxic gas. Fend off any enemies attempting to stop your escape. We recommend heading upwards to avoid taking damage from the gas. After eliminating most of the threats, grab onto the yellow rope and ascend to safety.

Gaz and Soap are there to pull you, playing as Captain Price, back to your feet in a coughing mess. Price continues to cough before collapsing to the ground.
