Although the game has only just come out, a Modern Warfare 2 playlist update has already gone live much to the excitement of players. Infinity Ward's latest multiplayer offering contains a wealth of game modes ranging from the classic Team Deathmatch to new modes such as Prisoner Rescue.

On a regular basis, the developer decides to rotate some playlists in order to introduce some new experiences into multiplayer. Sometimes, modes from the previous titles appear while on several occasions, new playlists are introduced.

When does the Modern Warfare 2 playlist launch?

It appears Infinity Ward plans on applying playlist updates on a weekly basis. This is exactly the same as the previous titles. Every Thursday or Friday, the developer will add new playlists to inject a breath of fresh air into multiplayer.

When is Hardcore coming to MW2?

The release of Hardcore, which is now known as Tier 1, is currently unknown. Infinity Ward says it plans on releasing the mode in the coming weeks, suggesting it could make an appearance as part of the season one update. As soon as we know more, we'll update the guide with the latest intel.

Modern Warfare 2 season 1 start date

Season 1 of Modern Warfare 2 commences on November 16, 2022 and there's every chance the update will feature new game modes and playlists for players to jump into.
