Modern Warfare 2 Atomgrad Raid walkthrough - How to complete on veteran

The Season One Reloaded update for Modern Warfare 2 brings a wealth of content to Infinity Ward's latest release. Arguably the most exciting part of the mid-season update is the arrival of the Modern Warfare 2 Atomgrad Raid, a brand-new co-op experience acting as a direct continuation of the single-player campaign.

Featuring elements of stealth, puzzle solving, and plenty of AI combatants attempting to halt your progress, some parts of this particular Raid are tricky to complete which is where our Modern Warfare 2 Atomgrad Raid walkthrough comes into play.

Modern Warfare 2 Atomgrad Raid

If you've yet to play the Raid and don't want anything spoiled, we advise this guide does contain spoilers so be aware when scrolling down and working through the steps to complete it on veteran. Without further ado, let's begin!

Open submarine doors

1. The first part of the Raid involves plenty of stealth. Make your way down the water channel, timing your shots to avoid the attention of other guards in the surrounding area. If you do, dip underwater for some temporary cover.
2. Once you make it to the end of the water, enter the room on the right-hand side where there's an input device next to some CCTV monitors. Get one player to press the button while another heads into the other room.
3. Make sure two players are operating the CCTV cameras while the third stands in front of another screen displaying red symbols. Cycle through the cameras until you enter a room where three symbols and three numbers are projected onto the wall.
4. Identify the symbols on the walls and read out the numbers that match the red symbols near the input device. Type the code into the keypad and it will accept the first code.
5. Switch your roles and repeat the process until all three players have entered a code. Once complete, the submarine doors will open.

It's worth noting that three incorrect codes will reset the entire process meaning you'll have to start again with another selection of symbols so accuracy is key.

Find the oxygen mask

1. With the doors now open, head through the doors. On the left is a table with an air tank placed on top. There is only one air tank to share between the three of you.
2. Head into the water. If anyone gets low on oxygen, grab the mask from the player carrying the air tank for a quick boost. Stick together to ensure you don't lose any lives.

Move through the flooded tunnels

1. Move through the tunnels and head left once you make it to the first corridor. Keep swimming to the end of the tunnel and you'll find a door with a button needed to open it.
2. Get one player to press it while the other two swim through the door. Wait for the others to press the button on the other side and regroup.
3. Make a turn and you'll end up discovering a staircase where you can resurface and grab some air. This particular area is the safe area and acts as a checkpoint if you do manage to lose any remaining lives.
4. Head to the top of the stairs and pick up a pistol. Jump back into the water towards a red light on the ground.
5. Once at the bottom, make your way through a caged door where you'll find numerous tripwires. Choose to shoot them, tank the damage, or avoid them altogether by swimming through the room to the right.
6. After dodging the tripwires, take a left and enter the maze. If you plan on playing through the Raid more than once, this part randomises every time.
7. Continue swimming through the maze until you find an elevator covered in tripwires. Head through the door to the right of it.
8. Keep moving through another couple of corridors and you'll find green glowsticks on the floor. Carry on to reach another safe area.
9. Dive into the next body of water and search for the paths that take you further into the underground. Eventually, you'll find a huge door. Swim through it to reach the next safe area.
10. Move to the surface and into the next room. Activate a nearby generator to power the button that opens the next door. When ready, get one player to open the door while another heads into the nearby underwater room to activate the switch powered by the generator.
11. Wait for the third and final player to swim through the open door and head up the staircase into another safe area.
12. The room contains a huge variety of weapons an ammunition so stock up before regrouping at the gate.

Clear the armoury

Once you've geared up and stored plenty of grenades in the backpack, it's time for the final showdown against the last wave of armoured AI and juggernauts. Keep your eyes peeled for low-flying bomb drones that can end the Raid in an instant.

1. Unload everything on the nearby opposition. Be aware of the juggernaut in one of the central rooms and make sure there's no way of it boxing you into a corner.
2. After dealing with the juggernaut and the rest of the combatants, enter the room the juggernaut spawned in and press the button on the wall. This opens a door, triggers a wall of smokes, and the appearance of another juggernaut.
3. Deal with the enemies and head towards the unlocked door. On the other side, there's a hole in the floor featuring a green glow.

Head through the vents

1. Drop down the hole and head into the underground once again. There are no enemies in this part of the mission so take your time as you navigate your way through the tunnels.
2. At the end of the tunnels, jump into the water and prepare for the final stages of the Atomgrad Raid.

Explore the flooded tunnels

1. Move through the tunnels and eliminate any enemies trying to halt your progress. Heading to the right and finding the first control room is the safest route here.
2. Once inside, get one player to activate the console and stay put while the other two players head along the path until they reach the second, and much brighter, control room.
3. Take out the juggernaut and activate the console in the control room. Let the third and final player return to the flooded room to locate and activate the reciever.
4. Once done, it's time to begin the cypher puzzle.

Complete the cypher puzzle

1. All three cypher puzzles are exactly the same as the symbol puzzles from earlier in the Raid. This time around, you have a shorter amount of time to complete them. Match the symbols with the corresponding number in under a minute to move onto the next step.
2. If the timer reaches zero, the puzzle resets and needs a different number combination. After cracking the first code, the second cypher will start.
3. This time around, you've got 40 seconds to match the numbers while the rest of the squad fends off incoming bomb drones. When done, the third and final cypher will start.
4. With 25 seconds on the clock, try and be quick to complete the puzzle. When done, this triggers the very last step of the Modern Warfare 2 Atomgrad Raid.

Exit through the blast doors

1. With four minutes on the clock, defend the surrounding area from bomb drones, juggernauts and AI combatants.
2. After defending the area for the full length of time, interact with the blast doors to trigger the final cutscene.
3. Raid complete!
