The Kastov 762 and TAQ-56 continue to prove popular thanks to its incredible firepower. Close behind is the M4 and although its mobility shines, the high amount of visual recoil makes it tricky to use.
At the bottom of the list is the M16. It may have dominated in previous Modern Warfare titles but its lack of mid-range firepower lets it down.

At the time of writing, there are a total of 11 Modern Warfare 2 ARs to use in multiplayer. As the cycle progresses, we expect Infinity Ward to add even more to the category in order to spice up the meta.
Modern Warfare 2 Season Three start date
With Modern Warfare 2 now out, attention is already turning towards the second season of post-launch content. Season Three of Infinity Ward's latest release begins on April 12 2023 and is expected to include even more additions to the ever-expanding arsenal of weapons. Will we see more ARs? Only time will tell.
