Dead Island 2 uses automatic saves in order to keep your progress through Hell-A safe. Taking place when loading into the action or shortly after you've completed an objective, it's incredibly straightforward to see when the game is backing up your current playthrough.

Keep an eye out for a white palm tree surrounded by a spinning circle in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen to know when the game is performing a save. Make sure you don't decide to quit while it's taking place in case your save disappears into thin air.

Will Dead Island 2 add manual save?

There's always a chance Dambuster Studios adds the option to save manually in Dead Island 2 as part of a future update but for the time being, keep your eyes peeled for the palm tree so you know your current progress is safe.
