Should You Sell Groot or Rocket?

The best one of the duo to sell is Groot. Lady Hellbender will respond positively to being presented with him and if you negotiate with her properly, you will get out of her throne room without being attacked. If you sell Groot, you will be able to find a lot of components and a few outfit collectibles on your way to rescue him which also makes him the better option.

You can choose to sell Rocket but in true Rocket fashion, he really irritates her and you end up in a lot of trouble. There is a plan B to get your units if you sell him which is breaking into her vault.

What Happens When You Sell Groot?

When you enter the throne room, Lady Hellbender takes an interest in Drax and her focus is mainly on him throughout the interactions. Due to her seemingly flirtatious nature towards him, you need to let Drax take care of the negotiations with her.

Here is the sequence of choices you should make to get the maximum amount of units available for Groot:

  • Encourage Drax
  • Support Drax

If you follow these steps, Drax will get Lady Hellbender to pay you 12,000 Galactic Units for Groot. He will be taken away but you will be able to rescue him shortly after the end of the negotiations.

What Happens When You Sell Rocket?

Arguably, there is no successful way to sell Rocket should you choose to hand him over to Lady Hellbender. She will be amused by his size and cuteness no matter what you say but he will take offence to this. When Lady Hellbender takes an interest in buying Groot, Rocket loses it. Rocket being Rocket fires at Lady Hellbender which means you will not get paid any units and successfully anger The Monster Queen. However, you will break into her vault where you can collect up to 12,000 Galactic Units in the bowls scattered around if you're fast enough.

If you sell either of them "successfully" you will be able to get a maximum of 12,000 Galactic Units for each. However, by selling Groot you open up a slightly longer extension of the chapter where you need to rescue him and in this, you can find some valuable items.
