miHoYo Announces Genshin Impact 1.5 Preview

miHoYo is holding the Genshin Impact 1.5 preview event April 16 at 11 a.m. (UTC -6).

As yet, there’s no word on how long the preview will be, though the 1.4 preview lasted 40 minutes.

It’s uncertain what we’ll see during the event, but at the very least, we know the Genshin Impact 1.5 preview will finally reveal the next update’s release date.

“Finally” because there’s been more chatter about Genshin’s 1.5 update in recent weeks than there has been about the ongoing 1.4 events.

We’ve had leaks from the 1.5 beta ranging from two brand-new characters to rumors of housing, the first Dendro character, and more.

It’s unlikely every rumor will be true, though.

For example, the chances of seeing Eula, Yanfei, and the first Dendro character (who’s probably Baizhu), are incredibly low.

Others seem more plausible, however.

It’s been quite a while since Genshin received a hefty update with new features outside Archon quests.

Since Inazuma is likely for an update beyond Genshin Impact 1.5, it makes sense for miHoYo to introduce substantial new features such as housing to keep the game fresh.

Rumors are swirling we’ll see a Zhongli banner re-run as well, following the Venti banner during 1.4 and data mined information about one of 1.5's boss fights.

There’s no confirmation indicating that’s true, but we’ll update once more information becomes available.
