For the first time in a long while now, a delay has broken up the stringent six-week Genshin Impact update schedule. Genshin Impact 2.7 compensation has now been confirmed, and we're here to talk about how to claim the freebies, why the patch was delayed, and when it might eventually arrive.

The Genshin Impact 2.7 compensation was announced a few hours after players caught wind of developer Hoyoverse quietly letting curious social media denizens know that the traditional livestream wouldn't be happening. It took some time to get answers, but now we know - we just don't know the finer details just yet.

How to Claim the Genshin Impact 2.7 Compensation

Once the 2.7 delay compensation goes out, claiming it should be no harder than logging in and checking your in-game mailbox.

Just like how characters send you gifts on their own birthdays for whatever reason, Hoyoverse tends to drop any compensation into this redeemable reward box alongside a little note with its reasons for doing so.

There's a good chance this will expire whenever the patch does go live, though, so if you once only planned to log in with the next update, you might want to fire the game up just to bag the rewards the developers are sending out as an apology.

Assuming there's some free Primogems or Fates in there, they could be the difference between a Yelan, Shinobu, or whichever character you're gunning for in the 2.7 banner.

What Are the Genshin Impact 2.7 Compensation Rewards?

As an apology for the ongoing delay to the Genshin Impact 2.7 update, Hoyoverse will give players 400 Primogems, one Fragile Resin, 7 Hero's Wit, 16 Enhancement Ore, and 120,000 Mora. You can claim all of these once every week, for as long as the delay continues to go on, and until Hoyoverse drops the 2.7 update. As such, it's even better than just a one-off gift, becuase you can keep getting them until we get the new update.
