The Resurgence maps and modes in Warzone 2 often act as a great alternative to the standard dose of battle royale action that takes place on Al Mazrah. Across two seasons of post-launch content, fans continue to drop into Ashika Island for some fast-paced action.
With Season 3 in full swing and developers applying another dose of weapon balancing to spice up the meta, players aren’t impressed with the current state of the game following numerous movement changes.
The data miners are at it again too. This time around, they’ve uncovered game files that reference a brand-new Resurgence map that could arrive in the not-too-distant future.
New Warzone 2 Resurgence map leaked
In a Tweet published by CharlieIntel, the outlet revealed data miners have found information on a new Warzone 2 map currently known as Vondel. This particular name is the Dutch word for found. Is Infinity Ward planning on a map set in Europe?
A map set in The Netherlands is an exciting prospect. The country is no stranger to the current Call of Duty timeline after Amsterdam was featured in several Modern Warfare 2 campaign missions along with the Breenbergh Hotel multiplayer map.
If the leak is accurate, the arrival of a Resurgence map set in central Amsterdam would be the first not to use an island as its main setting. On the other hand, there’s always a possibility of the Vondel files relating to another part of Warzone 2 so always take leaks of this nature with a pinch of salt until official information makes an appearance.
Infinity Ward is no stranger to using existing content to create new experiences so the idea of an Amsterdam Warzone 2 map may not be as farfetched as some think. We’ll keep an eye on the leak to see if further intel emerges.
