Movement mechanics in Warzone 2 often stir plenty of debate among players dropping into Al Mazrah and Ashika Island. In a bid to differentiate Call of Duty’s latest battle royale from its predecessor, various elements of the game were changed much to the frustration of fans.

As part of the Season 3 update, Infinity Ward and Raven Software have unveiled a wealth of changes coming to the game in addition to a brand-new Battle Pass, the return of the Intervention sniper rifle, and the hotly-anticipated arrival of ranked play.

Prior to the new season starting, the developers have shed some light on adjustments to player movement to improve the fluidity when roaming around the map.

Will Warzone 2 movement changes save the game?

There’s a strong possibility of the movement changes sparking an increase in the pace of play. If players can slide and dive quicker along with jumping over walls at a faster speed, the number of campers will drop as players adapt to a more aggressive style of play. The developers revealed movement “will now feel more dynamic and fluid” which is already a huge improvement.

Although fans are excited by the changes, there are still a few reserving their judgement until they’ve had a chance to drop into the action. “That doesn’t sound promising at all,” comments one concerned fan. “The animations that cause the clunkiness will still exist.”

The clunky movement has encouraged a slower pace and more camping over the first two seasons of Warzone 2 and with developers teasing a ‘new dawn’ for the battle royale, what else do they have up their sleeves?

Movement isn’t the only thing that’s changing as part of the Season 3 update. A brand-new gulag map spices up the last-chance saloon while the return of one-shot sniper rifles is bound to shake up the existing meta. It seems like Warzone 2 is finally on the right track.
