Maps in the Call of Duty franchise are hugely important. Well-designed battlegrounds have the ability to earn their place in the hearts of fans but arenas that fail to capture the imagination often result in Warzone 2 players looking elsewhere for their fix of battle royale action.
With the launch of Season Two approaching, all eyes are on the launch of Ashika Island, a brand-new Resurgence map joining Al Mazrah in the map pool. Just like the first Warzone, the Resurgence map is smaller than the main battle royale playground.
To demonstrate the true size of Ashika Island, Warzone expert JGOD has compared the sizes of every single Call of Duty battle royale map to see how it fares against the likes of Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep.

On February 2, the content creator took to Twitter with a visual comparison of each Warzone map and their respective sizes. Sitting at the top is the Blackout map closely followed by Al Mazrah. Towards the bottom of the list is Ashika Island, which is larger than Rebirth Island and slightly smaller than Fortune’s Keep.
JGOD mentions that it’s important to remember the measurements “are rough estimates” before revealing how he managed to come up with the figures. “I used Shipment as the measurement to find a basic pixel-to-metre conversion.”
The arrival of Ashika Island is hugely exciting for fans growing tired of the vast expanse of Al Mazrah. Although the successor to Caldera is far superior, there are plenty of players looking for a faster pace of play and the ability to respawn rather than enter the gulag.

Ashika Island features numerous points of interest including the iconic Castle map that first appeared in World at War multiplayer. Will the map prove popular among players? We’ll have to wait and see.
