Whether it’s seeing through walls or locking onto opponents with ease, encountering a Modern Warfare 2 hacker is hugely frustrating.
With Season 4 Reloaded on the way, Call of Duty’s anti-cheat is implementing new measures that are causing cheaters to ‘hallucinate’ during matches. Despite this, some are continuing to slip through the net, much to the annoyance of fans looking for a smooth gameplay experience.
Instead of cheating to gain an unfair advantage over their opposition, hackers are now using their powers to obtain unreleased Operators and use them in multiplayer before legitimate players can purchase them.
Modern Warfare 2 hackers are unlocking unreleased content
In a now-deleted Reddit post from user Ghillies InTheCyst, the player encountered a teammate using the unreleased Izzy Operator skin during a Search and Destroy match.
The player asked: “How are people using the Izanami skin already?” Judging by the comments, hackers are using an unlock tool to get their hands on content without having to spend any money. One fan explains the risk behind using unlock tools: “In MW19/WZ1 I used an unlock tool on six different accounts and all of them get banned within 48 hours.”
While plenty of players are frustrated with hackers accessing paid content for free, others aren’t fans of the Izzy Operator skin. Another player says: “It looks like she escaped from CoD Mobile,” suggesting the bright colours don't fit in with the aesthetics of Infinity Ward’s latest release.

Unlock tools may not enable hackers to top the scoreboard on a regular basis, but it’s not ideal seeing them stealing content legitimate players have to spend their hard-earned cash on. Judging by Activision’s swift response to other unlock tool users, there’s a chance the ban hammer has already swung on this particular Izzy Operator.
