There are numerous features available to utilise in Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. Infinity Ward’s latest release comes with a wealth of innovative features but there are some from previous Call of Duty titles that many believe would improve the game.
With the launch of Season Two on the horizon, fans are expecting plenty of new content despite a few claiming Infinity Ward is prioritising Warzone 2 over the success of multiplayer. Judging by the early Season Two patch notes, there’s still plenty to get stuck into once the new season begins.
Before that, there’s one pre-game feature players want to return in a bid to enhance the current multiplayer experience.
Would map voting fix Modern Warfare 2?
According to Reddit user NY_Yankees_99, reintroducing the ability to vote for a specific map before the action begins will help as the map pool continues to expand. “We need this desperately, especially when the old maps are released.”
It turns out that the demand for map voting in Modern Warfare 2 is already high despite the small selection of available maps. “I would enjoy multiplayer so much more if we had map voting,” says another player. “We didn’t know how good we had it back in the day.”

The ability to avoid Santa Sena Border Crossing isn’t the only fan-favourite feature players want to return. Alongside map voting, there are many that want the hugely popular Gunfight game mode back in the rotation.
It’s unclear if Infinity Ward plans on reintroducing map voting in Modern Warfare 2 but the developer often listens to community feedback so there’s always a chance the pre-match feature arrives in a future seasonal update. For the time being, it’s best to play any map even if it’s Border Crossing.
