When it comes to determining the best Modern Warfare 2 guns, there are always a few weapons that stand out from the crowd thanks to their superior performance over the course of a Modern Warfare 2 match.
With Season 4 Reloaded expected to introduce new weapons into the ever-expanding arsenal, fans continue to discuss areas of the game that make it frustrating to play. In addition to new weaponry, there’s a strong possibility of further weapon buffs and nerfs shaking up the meta.
Ahead of the mid-season update, one player believes a pistol that’s often overlooked is the best weapon in the entire game.
The most underrated Modern Warfare 2 weapon?
After testing this particular weapon on Crown Raceway, Reddit user DrakonRax believes the Basilisk revolver is the strongest one to use as part of a loadout.
The player uploaded a short clip to explain: “Why I think the Basilisk is the best weapon in the game.” After scoring a few kills with the M4 assault rifle, the player switches to the Basilisk and eliminates three opponents with a single bullet to demonstrate its immense power.
Other community members are in agreeance. One fan adds: “The new blueprint from this season’s [Season 4] battle pass is the best variant I’ve found of it!”
To make the most of the Basilisk, most players opt for the Akimbo attachment to carry two revolvers as a secondary weapon, but DrakonRax explains why they’ve taken a different approach: “[The Basilisk] has about double the one-shot range,” when comparing the differences between one pistol or two.
Pistols rarely make an impact on the meta due to their lack of firepower but ahead of Season 4 Reloaded, it seems the Basilisk is making a charge for the top spot.
