Every year, Call of Duty players dedicate a huge number of hours to working their way through various camouflage challenges for each weapon in the arsenal. Ranging from scoring a certain number of headshots to earning bullet penetration kills with an unusual attachment combination, some challenges are more tedious than others.

As attention begins to turn toward the launch of Modern Warfare 2, many players are already looking forward to what Infinity Ward’s next multiplayer experience has in store. Recent leaks have already uncovered information on a guns list, Perks, and Field Upgrades but there’s no news on the weapon camos.

Although the intel on the colours and challenges remains unknown, players are already requesting major changes to the “awful” challenges that have appeared in recent titles.

Players Want Better Camo Challenges

Rather than having to score kills while mounted, many are calling on Infinity Ward to bring back simple challenges such as scoring kills and headshots. To share their frustration with camo challenges, Reddit user “Lumenprotoplasma” asks for two simple, yet effective, changes to appear in Modern Warfare 2.

“No awful camo challenges like 100 bullet penetration kills, 100 kills with dumb attachment combinations,” requests the user. In addition to simpler challenges, they also ask for the return of map voting in place of the small map playlists that often appear in each weekly update.

Some commenters disagree with the idea of removing small map playlists but the vast majority want major changes to the lengthy camo grind. One user claims the current challenges “promote camping and slow-paced styles” which isn’t ideal for those that want to get into the fast-paced action.

It’s unclear if Infinity Ward plans on making adjustments to the Modern Warfare 2 camo challenges but with a few months until the game launches, it’s not long before we find out if you need to camp for hours to earn the coveted mastery camos.
