New Forza Horizon 4 Update Is Causing Crashes On Xbox Series X|S, Fix Is In The Works


Since launching in 2018, Forza Horizon 4's seen a consistent slate of updates. Having just released the Series 35 update yesterday, this adds a Jeep Gladiator, Citroën DS23, and Porsche 928 GTS as this month's latest reward cards. However, it's also introduced a game-breaking bug for Xbox Series X|S owners.

As reported on social media, many players reported that Forza Horizon 4's now failing to load, crashing and turning off their Xbox Series consoles. This doesn't appear to be completely widespread, as several fans have stated they've had no issues, but a significant portion of players are certainly affected.

This has since been acknowledged by the Forza Support Team, who've promised a fix is in the works. While there's no immediate ETA presently, they confirmed yesterday they'd hope to have an update for players by today, stating:

Until then, they've shared a current workaround involves taking your console offline, launching Forza Horizon 4, then re-enabling online through the Series X|S dashboard. However, that also comes with a warning, saying not to do this if you've already deleted your local save, as that will reset your progress.
