Fortnite 18.30 Update Patch Notes

New Cosmetics

A host of new cosmetics have been added to the game files after the Fortnite update today. The Boundless Set has returned to the Fortnite item shop, with a twist. We now see the zombiefied versions of the superhero skins that we saw back in Fortnite Season 4.

And interestingly enough, these skins can be customized, just like the original skins in the Boundless set.

These aren't the only skins that were added with the Fortnite 18.30 update. We'll be seeing two new skins including the Shadow Midas skin.

The Shadow Midas skin is reactive, and you can turn it off if you wish to!

The Monopoly back bundle preview has also gone live. Expect the back blings to be available in the game shortly after the Fortnite update today.

A new meta tag for the skin codenamed HeadbandS has been added. This skin is still encrypted so there's not much information about it.

It is assumed that this encrypted pack contains files related to Naruto, but all of it is just a speculation for now.

Battle Pass Rewards

It was obvious that the Cube Queen would be the secret skin for this Fortnite Season 8. That being said, the secret skin rewards have finally gone live.

Once the servers go live, you will be able to start working towards earning the Fortnite Cube Queen skin set in game. This will be applicable to everyone who owns the battle pass.

However, the Stairs glider that the Cube Queen has, can be used with her only.

New Weapons

The Fortnite 18.30 update sees the addition of two new weapons. One is the Combat Pistol and the other happens to be an Icy Grappler.

We're not sure if these weapons will be available in the game right after the servers have gone live. If they aren't, expect them to go live in the game within the next few days.

Since the Icy Grappler is a mythic weapon, you will be able to purchase it from Fabio Sparklemane for 400 Gold.

New POIs

The Redacted Bunker has finally opened, and it's now being termed as the IO Staging facility. Since it's an IO Facility, expect the presence of a good number of IO Guards, and Doctor Slone herself.

Furthermore, the cubes at the Cube Town POI will be forming into a pyramid as confirmed by the data miners. It's only a matter of time before this event starts happening.

Mechs

The Mechs are finally making it to Fortnite after a long hiatus. However, this time we won't be choosing between the Mechs and something else. We'll just have funding stations to fund for the Mechs.

The funding goal for the Mechs have been assigned at a whooping 1 Billion gold. That's a huge amount for the community to reach. So here's to hoping it's worth all the funding efforts.

Funding for the Mechs is scheduled to begin in 4 weeks.

Epic Games has also fixed the Mechs this time around, so hopefully they won't be as broken as they were previously.

New Challenges

A host of new challenges have been added to the files after the Fortnite update today. These challenges include that of a new NPC called Sledgehammer, Refer-a-friend challenges and the Cube Queen challenges.

Dusk gets a new set of questlines after the Fortnite 18.30 update. Furthermore, we'll be seeing another new NPC called Ember.

There's a chance that she might not be on the island right after the update. It's all good if she is, and even if she isn't, expect her to join the island in the next few days.

Funding

Once the servers go live after the Fortnite update today, we'll be seeing a new round of funding. You will have a chance to vote for either the Boogie Bomb or the Combat Shotgun.

Upcoming Event

Epic Games added a few new strings for a new winter event in Fortnite. These strings aren't used elsewhere for now.

And there is a high chance that this event is probably a new edition of the Winterfest.

Additional information

Bud the Mushroom has now been enabled in game. Although Bud isn't really that significant, but it's fun to see the character being all goofy in Fortnite.

Data miners have also spotted more information about the upcoming funding events in Fortnite Season 8. It looks like we'll be getting more interesting weapons over the due course of this season.

Furthermore, after the Fortnite update today, you will be able to access the instrumental versions of the music packs that are included in the Fortnite Season 8 battle pass.
